MICU to be commissioned in GMC soon, announces Health Minister

Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) will be soon commissioned in Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
Speaking to reporters, Rane said that 12-bedded MICU will be commissioned in GMC and that he has cleared the file in this regard.
“If you remember, during my earlier tenure as Health Minister I had introduced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at GMC,” he said.
Rane further informed that he is contemplating to outsource operation of ICUs  at Valpoi primary health centre, district and sub district hospital at Ponda and Mapusa, Bicholim health centre and Hospicio to ensure better monitoring.
Minister also informed that Rs 26 crore new medical equipments will be commissioned at GMC soon.
