Panaji: ONGC is contemplating to issue legal notice to former chairman of Goa Corporate League (GCL) Ketan Bhatikar for failing to pay their First Prize money.

Bhatikar was chairman of GCL, an event which is organised under the umbrella of Goa Cricket Association.

A senior ONGC official said that they are yet to get Rs 7.5 lakh from the organizers of GCL 2018 which they had won as first prize.

“We have been communicating with the organizers but has failed to get any response. Now we are contemplating to file legal suit against GCL 2018 organisers and its chairman Ketan Bhatikar,” he said.

Interestingly, the season 2019 of GCL has taken place but the money of 2018 is still pending.

In a similar issue, the promoters of Goa Lions Team have also said that they are yet to get the money from GCL 2018 organisers.

Bhatikar, who is also a MGP leader, is also under scanner after his whopping travel bills are due to be paid.

Though GCL is a part of GCA, the cricketing body had decided that they will not be funding the event as the organizers have to raise the money through sponsorships.
