Liquor outlets to remain close in Panaji ahead of polls

Panaji: Government has directed all the licensed premises for the sale of liquor located in Panaji to remain close from May 17 evening to till intervening midnight of May 19 in view of by-election.

The liquor outlets will remain close from 6.00 p.m. of May 17 till intervening midnight of May 19 in view of polling and from 00.00 hrs of May 23 to 00.00 hrs of May 24 on account of counting of votes.

The licensed  premises having license for bar and restaurant are allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only and the bar counter will be closed and no liquor will  be allowed to be served during the above mentioned days.

The owners of the licensed premises having bar and restaurant will display a board in the premises stating that ‘No Liquor will be served’ and that the restaurant is open for serving food only.
