Panaji: Goa government has began survey on how many people will benefit out of the recent legislative amendment offering ten per cent reservation in Education and Jobs to economically weaker section, a senior BJP leader said.

BJP’s Goa General Secretary Narendra Sawaikar told reporters on Wednesday that State government’s Rural Development Agency and Panchayati Raj departments have begun collecting data on how many people in the State would actually benefit from ten per cent reservations for economically weaker sections.

“Right now there is no figures available as to how many people would benefit from this historic amendment. But according to us, there is sizeable population which will be covered,” he said.
