Goa Youth Forward demands reduction in bond for MBBS, PG at GMC

Panaji: Goa Youth Forward today demanded that the amount of  bond procured by Goa Medical College and Hospital for MBBS, Dental and their PG students should be decreased by State Health department.

Goa Youth Forward South District President Saikunj Desai addressed press conference in presence of Vice President Runal Kerkar. Desai said that the bond for MBBS/Dental has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh while that for PG has gone up from Rs five lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

Desai demanded that the bond should be reduced from Rs 5 lakh to Rs one lakh for MBBS and from Rs 10 lakh to Rs five lakh for post graduate students.

He said that government spends around Rs one crore per student to teach them for five years. Kerkar pointed out that there are 150 seats of which 30 are reserved for non-goans.
