Panaji: The State Government has decided to redraft cum amend Goa Board Act 1975 for the holistic growth of the education sector.
The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975 was introduced in May 27, 1975.
A six-member committee under former law secretary Pramod Kamat is been constituted to suggest amendment to the Act. Former director education Dr Celsa Pinto, former GBSHSE J R Rebello, chairperson of sanjay school Guruprasad Pawaskar, educationist Dr Nandkumar Kamat and OSD (legal) education department Dayanand Chawdikar are other members of the committee.
The first meeting of the six-member committee is expected to take place within a fortnight, wherein the scope of work would be worked out.
