Calangute police have registered an offence against 08 persons for forming an unlawful assembly, wrongfully restraining, abusing, threatening with dire consequences and assaulting the taxi driver of Goa Miles.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi a complainant was received from one taxi driver namely Shamsuddin Kazi, R/o Maczana, Salcete informing that he has registered himself to Goa Miles Taxi App and on 04/01/2019 he got a notification from a customer requesting for a pick up from a resort at Baga. Accordingly as per the notification the complainant driver went to pick the complainant when two taxi drivers of taxis bearing reg no: GA 03 W 0660 and GA 03 N 8353 wrongfully restrained him and called 06 other taxi drivers who further assaulted him with fist blows and slaps and threatened him with dire consequences.
Both the accused taxi drivers have been summoned by the police for investigation.
Police have written to the Directorate of transport for cancelation of the taxi permit of both the accused person taxis involved in the crime.
