Despite mining ban, we didn’t let development suffer: Parrikar

Dona Paula: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said that despite setback due to ban on mining industry, the state did not let the development process suffer.

Parrikar was addressing the civic reception hosted in honour of President of India Ram Nath Kovind at NIO auditorium.

 “Despite the set back received on account of ban on mining, one of the engines of economic growth in the state, we did not let the development process suffer,” Parrikar said in his speeh in presence of Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, Speaker of legislative assembly Pramod Sawant besides the President of India.

Parrikar said that the state have been giving a major boost to infrastructure with support and guidance of the central government under able leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

“Major projects like national highways, bridges, waste management and water supply are being undertaken. Goa is poised to take off to next level of development and become model for the rest of the country,” he said.
