19,000 – odd students to answer SSC exams from tomorrow

Panaji: The board examinations for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) will begin from tomorrow with nearly 19,343 students answering it.

The exams, conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will begin with Language Paper I- English.

The examinations will be held across 28 centres.

Total 9,621 boys and 9,722 girls would be answering the exams that will conclude on April 23. There are also 284 special children who would be answering the exams.

GBSHSE has said that the examination will commence at 9.30am and that the candidates are advised to be present at their respective Centres of examination 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the exams failing which they would be disqualified.

The Board has also specified that in no circumstances the examinations will be postponed even though any day is declared as public holiday.

As per the timetable, the exams will begin at 9.30 with English paper on Tuesday. On April 3 it will be floriculture, April 4 is social science paper I- History, April 5 is drawing and painting, April 8 is mathematics, April 9 is pre-vocational subjects while on April 10 is Language Paper II-Hindi. April 12 is Science, April 13 is Third Language and April 15 is Social Science paper II- Geography, followed by other vocational papers.
